Tarek launched Levant Technologies in 2003 following the implosion of his previous employer Williams Commun-ications in the midst of the infamous telecom bust. Building on his expertise in Web site design, programming and database development, his hosting know-how and general consultation experience, Tarek has developed cordial relationships with small local businesses as well as large international corporations including Bristol-Myers Squibb, the American Heart Association, Nikon World Magazine and Ditch Witch.
With a rich background in various programming languages including PHP, ASP and JSP, Tarek has developed numerous online retail and ordering systems, customized content manage-ment systems, and many other database driven solutions unique to each client. He spent four years working toward his degree in the Computer Science depart-ment at the University of Oklahoma before beginning his career as a Senior Technician and System Administrator at Telepath Systems, Inc. in 1997.
Tarek was born in Nigeria to Lebanese parents. He lived in Miziara, Lebanon from age six until he moved to Toronto, Canada at age 19 to complete his high school education. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Oklahoma to begin his university work. He is fluent in English, Arabic and French. He met his future wife, Deena, in an online chatroom where they struck up a conversation about the identical pronunciation of their names. Tarek enjoys entertaining friends, mountain biking and getting a good laugh from political satirists. |

For more than twelve years, Victor has striven to create visually appealing web designs while employing user-friendly interfaces. He has worked on over 300 web sites and Flash projects during his career including projects for such companies as Morgan Stanley, the NBA, the U.S. Navy and Bristol-Myers Squibb, to name a few.
Trained in typography and graphic design at the University of Oklahoma, Victor earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication. His first full-time position was with Edmond-based web design firm Avant Digital (which became webcasts.com, was subsequently bought by iBEAM Broadcasting, and was finally sold to and phased out by Williams Communications during the turbulent waning dot com glory days). It was at Avant in late 1998 that he first worked alongside his present partner, Tarek Dina.
Before joining Levant Technologies in March 2008, Victor served as Creative Director for five years at one of the leading web design and programming firms in Oklahoma City. During his tenure there, his work was recognized with a Webby Award, a pair of MarCom Awards and honors from the Oklahoma Museums Association.
Victor was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Cupertino High in 1992 where he was presented with the Art Departmental Award. He earned a Liberal Arts degree from Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida before settling in Oklahoma with his wife Michal Lynn in 1995. He spends his “free” time homeschooling his daughter and four sons, and tinkering at his various unfinished novels. He enjoys creating riddles, mazes, word puzzles and games and possesses an extensive unusual bottle collection. |
